My quick flip through MSNBC, CNN, etc reveals that only FOX started showing the speech from the beginning...
Update [2004-10-18 13:33:38 by El Payo]: MSNBC and CNN have picked up the feed now, but they didn't show the hardcore campaigning for New Jersey votes that characterized the beginning of the speech.
Update [2004-10-18 13:36:17 by El Payo]: Bush has announced a Homeland Security appropriation for 2005 that will fund Coast Guard, port security, anti-missile technology on airplanes and more in an apparent attempt to answer the criticisms raised by Kerry in the debates. Seems like it's a little late, but this is new...
Update [2004-10-18 13:40:40 by El Payo]: Now Bush is attacking Kerry. This speech has veered back into campaigning - I hope, but do not expect that the news networks will give Kerry equal time to respond - I just sent an email to CNN complaining about their continuing coverage of this bait-and-switch.
Update [2004-10-18 13:55:0 by El Payo]: Bush says with nowhere to hide, Zarqawi has gone underground... so far underground that he can now order attacks within the Green Zone.
Update [2004-10-18 13:50:52 by El Payo]: Bush says '64 flags fly at CENTCOM in Tampa, Florida' - no mention of how many fly in Iraq. And he's back to the 'Kerry insulted our allies' theme...
Update [2004-10-18 13:56:52 by El Payo]: Voting is spreading in the Middle East... So why isn't it getting better for women in Saudi Arabia? Who's checking the facts in these speeches?
Update [2004-10-18 14:11:52 by El Payo]: CNN finally cut away, but MSNBC and FOX continue their coverage...
Update [2004-10-18 14:11:52 by El Payo]: FOX has cut away now, so just MSNBC is covering the speech. CNN has moved to Kerry now, FOX is dissecting Bush's speech...
Update [2004-10-18 14:13:24 by El Payo]: MSNBC finally gives up and cuts away.
It's a CLEARLY partisan crowd (I read last night that tickets were unavailable), and the FOX graphic at the bottom of the screen for the early part of the speech read:
BUSH: WITH YOUR HELP WE WILL WIN NEW JERSEY
'Major speech' my ass - it's another political rally. He couldn't hold his own in the debates so he's fooled the media into covering this tripe.
